At his peak, Michael Jackson was a pop performer that no-one could touch. We were all touched by his music and the gift it brought to the world.

Michael Jackson aged just 50, collapsed at his rented home in Los Angeles yesterday and despite the frantic efforts of doctors, including his personal physician, he could not be resuscitated.

A post-mortem examination is being held today amid claims that Jackson, the greatest pop star of his generation, may have taken an overdose of painkillers before his comeback concerts, due to start in London on 13 July.

Family lawyer Brian Oxman today blamed “enablers” for pushing Jackson too hard physically in preparation for the 50 comeback shows he was supposed be staging.

He said: “This was something which I feared and something which I warned about. This is a case of abuse of medication, unless there is another cause that I don’t know about.

“This family has been trying for months and months to take care of Michael. The people surrounding him have been trying to help him.
But over the years we have seen such a shocking transformation with his strange and scary attempts he has undergone to change his looks,so all isnt always as happy as it appeared! he was a very troubled soul in many ways.

 Paramedics arrived within four minutes of being called to find the doctor trying to revive Michael, who had stopped breathing.

They spent 42 minutes treating the singer at the house but he sadly did not regain consciousness. He was declared dead at 2.26pm local time at the UCLA Medical Centre, about two miles from his home near Sunset Boulevard after a further hour spent trying to save him.

Jackson’s 1982 album Thriller, which remains the biggest-selling album of all time, went immediately to No1 in the iTunes chart while Twitter, the online messaging service, was receiving 5,000 messages a minute.

Michael Jackson died from a massive heart attack caused by the pressure to perform 50 shows at London’s O2 Arena, his family’s lawyer said today.

Legal battles and financial crisis coming to his life recently, didn’t stop Michael Jackson from continuing with relaunching his music career. Michael reportedly has been going back to the studio and working on a new album.

 Bands playing at Glastonbury Festival this weekend are set to also pay their tributes. Festival organiser Emily Eavis, writing on the social networking site Twitter, called Jackson a “truly great artist”. She added: “There will be tributes all over the site, all weekend”.

Dave McCabe, singer with The Zutons, told the BBC some cover versions are inevitable: “Hopefully, ‘cos he’s got good songs and it’s always a winner.”

Many festival-goers learned of the news late last night as DJs scattered around the festival site began playing Jackson tracks.

One fan said: “They started playing loads of his music and we thought, ‘Oh, that’s really strange’ and then someone said, ‘Michael Jackson’s dead’ and we were like, ‘No way’.”

Another reveller added: “Everyone thought it was a joke at first - then people started watching the news and saw it was true.”

BBC Radio 1 presenter Jo Whiley is at the festival site and noted a muted mood at Worthy farm on Friday morning.

She said US artists performing later today, such as the Black Eyed Peas and N*E*R*D, would be “knocked sideways” by the news of Jackson’s death.

She added: “Everybody will be celebrating the music of Michael Jackson. You can guarantee tonight there will be loads and loads of Jacko coming out of sound systems here.”

Artists including Lily Allen, Lady GaGa and Neil Young will all play at the festival later on Friday.

Before working on the new album, Michael has just released a special re-issued album of his old hit “Thriller”. The special album titled “Michael Jackson 25th Anniversary of Thriller” was released on February, 12 and it also features the pop maestro’s collaboration with today’s artists, such as will.i.am, Akon, Stacy Ferguson aka. Fergie and Kanye West.

I for one will be first on that  list to get the album, today is a very sad day.

The only positive thing we can hold onto is that his music will live on through all his fans worldwide.

The England star was introduced to Pilates while on loan at Italian football club AC Milan.

“I do an hour of Pilates a day. The medical set-up at Milan is fantastic and fitness-wise I am the best I have been for a long time,” he said.

Beckham is desperate to show England boss Fabio Capello he is fit enough for next year’s World Cup in South Africa and this should help show just how much hes prepared to bend for the team.

David and his wife, Victoria Beckham, have signed up for Pilates classes at Los Angeles’ exclusive Sports Club together, so anyone in that class will be struggling to stay calm.

He might get a bit of stick from the England lads as pilates is seen as a bit of a girlie thing — but being David he won’t care if he gets to South Africa.
We think its another great move to show you guys not to be scared of being different ! he was first to wear a sarong and look how many guys followed suit.
Take a leaf out of my Beckhams book and enrole yourself into one of these Pilates classes.
It not only helps your health, mind and body but it also makes the classes a lot more fun for us women..lol
perhaps it will be the new 2009 way of meeting ladies, theres lots of fit ones in there guys…
